Mission & Vision

  • Connect the public to a network of support programs for the detection, prevention, and control of diabetes type 1 and type 2.
  • Connect the community to affordable, accessible, and available programs within their local communities.
  • Create an educational and awareness event that will sustain itself in the community- an event that will not be dependent on any one organization.
  • Promote the goals and objectives of the United Nations and the International Diabetes Federation regarding the impact of chronic vascular disease and diabetes.

World Diabetes Day Goals

Raise awareness of diabetes impact in communities
  • To create a year long link to connect programs and resources throughout the Bay area to children, families, adults, and seniors who
    • Are at risk of suffering from diabetes I or II
    • Have diabetes or pre-diabetes and do not know it
    • Have been diagnosed with diabetes but have little or no access to resources
  • Continue WDD events in the bay area to raise awareness and increase participation
  • Introduce the public to available resources that:
    • Allow individuals to take control
    • Promote healthy lifestyles
    • Encourage early detection, prevention, and control
  • Link the community to partners and resources
    • Remove barriers to participation in programs and the use of resources
  • Raise scholarship funds for Community Diabetes Projects
